USING A DATING APP TO CONTACT A MINOR FOR THE PURPOSES OF SEX


This week a Riverside County Jury convicted Leonides Edgardo Guzman of contacting a minor to for the purposes of sex, arranging to meet a minor to commit lewd acts, possession of child pornography and attempted production of child pornography.

According to Riverside County District Attorney's office, last August, Guzman was using a dating app when he contacted one of the agency's undercover investigators who identified himself as a 13 year old girl from Beaumont, California.

Guzman then sent several pictures of intimate body parts and asked to meet the young girl at Nicklaus Park in Beaumont according to prosecutors. When he showed up he was taken into custody without incident.
