Sextortion of Males

Brendan Eardly was a convicted sex offender at the time of his arrest for online sexual exploitation of nearly 60 young males across the U.S. Recently, Eardly was sentenced to 29 years in prison for soliciting and producing child pornography from teenage boys on social media.

Many people think that online social media exploitation is mainly focused on girls but truthfully, males are also often exploited. Regardless of gender, little attention is given to the vulnerabilities of individuals in the gay community in seeking online relationships. Brendan Eardly used popular social media apps, KiK Messenger Facebook and Instagram to meet and seduce more than 60 young males offering to be their "Gay Mentor" and building relationships based on trust.

Eardly often would send images of child pornography obtained from one victim to other victims with whom he was communicating. In one case he purchased gifts and built a relationship with a 13 year old boy in Utah. Most victims were not aware that Eardly was a child pornographer and the images would be shared with others. At the time of his arrest, Eardly has multiple electronic storage devices holding thousands of photos of young males. WATCH THE VIDEO TO LEARN MORE.

Please note: A criminal complaint, an arrest, or an indictment is a formal accusation or allegation of criminal conduct, not evidence. A defendant is presumed innocent unless convicted through due process of law.
