On April 20, 2021, Riverside County Sheriff's Department - Riverside County Anti Human Trafficking Task Force (RCAHT) - Palm Desert Station activity culminated in an arrest of 30 year old Marino Lopez. Prior to the arrest, RCAHT conducted an undercover operation posing online as a 13 year female. Lopez allegedly initiated an online conversation with the goal of soliciting a sexual encounter with a 13-year-old girl and arrived at a predetermined location to meet her. At that time he was arrested.
He was arrested for the following charges:
Attempting to meet who he believed to be a 13 year old minor to engage in lewd sex acts
Committing a felony while on court release
Possession of a controlled substance
Possession of Paraphernalia
Possession of a dirk or dagger.
